Pulseaudio and HAL

Pulseaudio "refused" to connect in gnome. My user is in the groups: lp video audio optical storage power users. I do not know whether it is HAL or D-BUS that is the source; nonetheless, starting HAL (which starts D-BUS) seems to fix the problem. However, the Pulseaudio wiki entry does not mention either of them.

Re: Pulseaudio and HAL

I'm pretty sure you need dbus for pulseaudio. Try starting dbus without hal (that's my system). If it works you can update the wiki.
