Set the date

My date is off by a month, I fixed it with the date command but upon restart I couldn't get my computer to boot.  I changed the date back to the wrong date and it worked fine, but I would like the date to be correct.  How do I set the date in a way that it will let me reboot my computer.

Re: Set the date

Was there a specific error? Maybe you need to run fsck on your disks after changing the date?

Re: Set the date

The error was something along the lines of 'Date of last boot was in the future'

Re: Set the date

Try removing /var/lib/hwclock/adjtime and have a look http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Time#About
