Just curious, but doesn't udev load the module anyway? Why do you need a rule for it?

Nope, udev won't load it for some reason! This problem exists for all distros with this device.

In fact, if you take a look at the linked pages that are listed in Wireless Setup (the ones that tell you if your device is compatible with Linux), all of them say that Belkin F6D4050 is not compatible and/or has no support or it is simply not listed.

This page actually says that "As of kernel 2.6.31, this device ID is not claimed by the rt2800usb or rt2870sta drivers."

Well that's not true anymore!

On the other hand, I haven't blacklisted any potentially conflicting modules. Perhaps that might be another solution... If it is, I'll add that to the wiki page as well.
