Re: Update of FluxBB

Why should the favicon file be theme dependent? I just checked: https://bbs.archlinux.org/favicon.ico and it's not there. (Presently it's found at: https://bbs.archlinux.org/style/ArchLinux/favicon.ico ) Just copy and paste it to that root folder.

Re: Update of FluxBB

I just realized that the new Arch style uses a bigger font than the uncustomized styles. I, and my eyes, greatly appreciate this.

Re: Update of FluxBB

I just want to comment that to me the style feels too low contrast. Everything is light blue, light blue, and light blue.

Personally, I'd rather be back in Hobbiton.

@Anikom15 - have you tried some of the other forum skins (besides default)?

Re: Update of FluxBB

Cobalt is reasonably good.  I think it's basically the old Dark Arch theme.

If you like green, then Lithium is kind of nice-looking as well.

Technecium wouldn't be so bad either if the fonts weren't all so darn gigantic.

Re: Update of FluxBB

Oh, that's cool that there's alternative themes. It'd be cooler if we could use our own CSS or something.

Various browsers include support for custom stylesheets.

Firefox: Stylish, userChrome.css
Chrome/Chromium: Stylish, Chrome Stylist
Opera: built-in support for .css files
Midori: included addon

Heres an example:

This post is huge. big_smile

Don't know what's up with it. I never visited it before so I can't tell if the update is the cause. Anyway, being an isolated anomaly it's not something to worry about too much.

Looks like it is missing a "/quote" tag...   Not sure if part of the post was lost or what happened?

It's four years old, but maybe Romashka can recall what happened.

Re: Update of FluxBB

What has happened is that there was an extra "quote".  FluxBB stops posts like this occurring now, but it appears that this post was from the pre-checking error.  I guess the FluxBB code now assumes that such posts are not possible.   Fixed using google cache.

Actually, that post dates when we were using phpbb.  phpbb was ignoring mismatched tags but on punbb/fluxbb they mess up the formatting.  Usually removing the extra tag fixes the problem.

It seems there are a lot of people experiencing intermittent problems with the capchas.  Perhaps we could disable that functionality for now?  As far as I know, we haven't had much trouble with bots around here anyway, right?

Actually, I've seen quite a few spammers in the last couple weeks, maybe the bots aren't far away. The Machines are probably just waiting for the opportunity to destroy Zion! ;P

I don't understand your question.  Are you suggesting that as Arch users, we should just cook up some css userstyle or something to unhide the capchas in order to get around a fluxbb feature that is obviously broken?

I see.  And why not stick with the old mechanism?  I assume there must have been a reason.

I'd assume because some users found it almost impossible to solve the old mechanism smile
