project is im determined to add (STR)suspend to ram functionality to some supermicro x6dvl mobos with ,Lindenhurst VS) Chipset,
so fare i found that the arcutecter does exest in the chip set however wasn't fully implemented in the ACPI code and im assuming its for the simple reason the board is designed or thought to run 24/7 witch is usally the case.
im very new to the acpi tables and would love to talk to anyone that has maybe same interest or can help or if any of you that might know for a fact i'm wasting my time ( otherwerds know its impossable)i
thank you for reading

See if your machine supports suspend:
$ cat /sys/power/save
if the output includes "mem", you should be good to go.
Try:
# echo -n mem > /sys/power/state
and see how it works.
EDIT: THis might help: http://acpi.sourceforge.net/dsdt/index.php
