Hi everyone.
Basically, I've been suspicious of this the past couple of days, and am not convinced that Pacman simply will not update any packages.
I have deleted the cache, updated my mirrorlist and run pacman -Syy, but to no avail.
It always says up to date and nothing to do.
For example, warning: vlc-1.1.1-3 is up to date -- reinstalling
Yet I know by the package list on the Arch website that vlc is at vlc 1.1.2-1
Can anyone help?
Cheers,
Wallsy

Pacman scans the mirrorlist from the first line to the last, and if an available server is found, the others will be ignored. If this server has problems of some sort, the update process can go wrong. You may simply need to comment out one or two servers (by prefixing #) from your mirrorlist file. Let me know if that works.

Your mirror is probably outdated. Try switching to a new one. Which one are you using?

When you switch make sure it's the first mirror in your list and then "pacman -Syy".

SOLVED:
At the top of the file there was a line labelled 'Server used for installation'. This one was obviously outdated, so I commented it out and voilà, worked like a charm
Cheers everyone.
