Dial-up Modem not detected

Problem:
My system isn't recognizing/finding my internal modem.

What I have:
wvdial and gnome-ppp set up.  From the Wiki, I gave all users permission to use wvdial.

What I know:
I ran PuppyOS and was able to get the modem to work - so it's there and functions. (PuppyOS uses wvdial) The modem is at /dev/ttys_PCTELO and I have an init string (though it's a bit different than the one gnome-ppp shows.)

Question:
How do I get Arch to find the modem?

Re: Dial-up Modem not detected

Maybe you could take a look at:
http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Dia … aler_HOWTO

It (supposedly) enables you to connect without a dialer.
