Hi --
I'd like to help with bug triage; what's the initiation process? I've searched far and wide on the wiki for this information, but have come up empty except for a subscript on one page implying that developers and TUs have this privilege. I don't care about getting a title; it just seems that there are a lot of bugs that need to be renamed or assigned to maintainers, and it's a slow process that I'm barely not too dumb to help with.
Thanks!

We don't really have 'bug triaging' so to speak, though there ARE bug squashing days - http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Bug_Squashing_Day
The easiest way within the current system to do this is to just hang out on IRC and tell someone with dev/TU priviledges there (not sure how many there are). Otherwise you could just email arch-general. Or save all the information for the next bug squashing day.

You can start by looking at bugs, posting fixes, requesting closures if they have been fixed, etc. Those who are active on the bug tracker tend to get the privileges to do the rest.

Thanks guys. I am aware of the Bug Squashing Days; I'm looking for something more amenable to indulging my needs for procrastination. ![]()
