[solved] Internal pacman error: Segmentation fault.

I've been having this error since a couple of days ago. I haven't booted the PC for a few days... and everything was quite fine, so I have no idea what may have caused it. I did find another thread which poses a similar problem, but it was only "solved" by a complete system reinstall.

The final lines show up on the terminal:

Internal pacman error: Segmentation fault.
Please submit a full bug report with --debug if appropriate.

One curious thing is that yesterday it only stopped after 'system-tools-backend'. Today it manages to process another package.

Any clues?

-edit-

Tried removing network-manager-applet, since there was some kind of error during the upgrade. No luck.

-edit 2-

Tried installing a few packages with a simple pacman -S.

From the last 3 packages, telepathy-haze and python-telepathy installed fine. However, pacman -S system-tools-backends causes the same error, so that seems to be the problem.

Re: [solved] Internal pacman error: Segmentation fault.

Apparently, changing mirrors and typing pacman -Sy wasn't enough.

Eventually, only pacman -Syy solved the problem for me.

-y, --refresh
Download a fresh copy of the master package list from the server(s)
defined in pacman.conf(5). This should typically be used each time
you use --sysupgrade or -u. Passing two --refresh or -y flags will
force a refresh of all package lists even if they are thought to be
           up to date.
