[SOLVED] Installation woes

After installing arch I get this and then stall:

GRUB Loading stage1.5.

GRUB loading, please wait...
Error 15

i.e. it does not get to the grub boot screen at all.

I've installed arch on this machine before, and it worked fine, so I'm pretty stumped here.

I've tried changing menu.lst to have /boot/kernal... instead of /kernal, to no change

Thankyou for any help,
steve

You are misspelling kernel. If this is just a typo in your post then post your menu.lst and filesystem/partition layout info. It's hard to say what the issue is without more info.

Re: [SOLVED] Installation woes

Something went wrong and grub can't find the stage1.5/2 files. Boot your install image and reinstall grub, instructions are in the wiki.

Re: [SOLVED] Installation woes

That's just a typo in the post.
My FS is as set up in autoconfig, i.e

sda1 100mb /boot
sda2 256mb swap
sda3 7.5gb /
sda4 20gb /home

What other info can I provide?

Cheers.

Re: [SOLVED] Installation woes

Post your /boot/grub/menu.lst.

Re: [SOLVED] Installation woes

AFAIK If you get this error before the grub menu, grub is not installed properly and your menu.lst configuration is secondary.

Sorry, I thought that OP already did what you told him to do, but it seems unlikely as only a minute passed between your posts.
