Hi all,
i've made a fresh instllation of arch more than one month ago and since that time i'm not able to perform any system upgrade!!
I've configured mirrorlist, i typed pacman -Syy, but when i type for the full upgrade i'm always getting this message:
# pacman -Syu
:: Synchronizing package databases...
core is up to date
extra is up to date
community is up to date
:: Starting full system upgrade...
there is nothing to dobecause there aren't many programs, i thought it was pretty normal, but now, i realized that it is always like this. I saw from "recent package updates" that gcc, openssl have been updated for i686 in Core. My version is the previous! If i try to update openssl, it says that the package is "up to date, reinstalling?"
what's the problem here??
Thanks in advance

I ran into the same problem with Czech mirror. Thanks to your post, I've changed default mirror and I'm now back in bussiness :-)
Thank you.

Whatever mirror I use, nothing changes. The problem persists for months already. Could you, please, explicitly specify a mirror you used to solve the problem? Better an European one, I am in CZ.
UPDATE: I've finally found the problem - the initial server (one used at OS installation time - an outdated cvut.cz) was listed in the beginning of the mirrorlist. I never noticed it while commenting in and out lines of the rest of the file. I've removed it and everything is ok now. Going to update 2 gigs now :-)

Thanks. I've tried this, but missed an initial server to be listed right above :-]
