[Solved] KDE fails to stop during shutdown

The subject pretty much says it all: during the shutdown, the first message that appears is "Stopping KDE Desktop Manager", and it invariably fails (it's the only one that fails). Is this, well, normal? I've tried googling and searching the logs, but without much success, I'm afraid...

EDIT: it's not "Desktop Environment" (as initially posted) but rather "Desktop Manager". For sake of accuracy...

Do you run kdm as daemon ? I had the same thing with Slim and it was solved after using the inittab method.

Yes, you were right... well sort of... The problem was that I had *both* methods enabled... Enabling just either of them works fine. Thank you for the hint wink
