EeePc 900HD - Kernel panic when bringing down wlan0 with Function Key

Hi everybody!
I'm experiencing this hitchy problem with this newly "purified" netbook (purified means i got rid of windrlors wink). I'm a bit stuck, because i don't see anything on the logs ecc... since... well it panics out...
Basically, when i boot up, the wlan interface is always down. I can easily bring it up with the function key and  of course i can disable it with NM or iwconfig, BUT if i press again the FK to shut it down, the kernel panics out and X freezes badly. I can tell it's a kernel panic because the battery led starts blinking...

I'm runnig the stock kernel with acpid running.
lsmod out:

Re: EeePc 900HD - Kernel panic when bringing down wlan0 with Function Key

I assume you run X while trying this, which is probably why you don't see the actual kernel-panic. That message would be quite useful though, so I would boot into single-user mode, maybe tail some logfiles, and then perform the operation that causes the panic. When you have the actual message, it should be easier to fix! smile

Nope... seems it's a long time known/unresolved bug in the kernel. Somebody made a kernel patch, but it wasn't accepted upstream, and now is too old.

Too bad.

Well for the moment, do somebody know of a  way to disable this acpi event?
