Build packages + precompiled package = what happen on upgrade?

Hi!

I discovered arch not long time ago and would like to give it a try.
I come to debian then freebsd, and I feel like arch could be perfect for me.

I have a question, as I would like to have on my system build ports and precompiled packages: what would happen on upgrade, is it possible to keep packages installed as precompiled packages to be upgraded as precompiled packages and build ones to be upgraded as port / build ones?

Thats my question, thanks to anybody who which to answer it!

Have a nice day anyway!

There are package manager wrapper scripts that allow you to do this.   bauerbill I think can and so does srcpac.
