Could you update PKGBUILD in AUR, please? It is still 3.1.1-5.

I did! There must have been some glitch that reverted the upload. I'll re-upload tonight when I get home, can't access my SSH box right now.

The core2 and k8 packages have not been updated to 3.1.
Did you stop maintaining those? (I only care about core2 though).

Thanks

But they have, in both i686 and x86_64.

I cannot resume tuxonice on 3.1 I remember reading tuxonice was now built as a module? How do I load it in order to get it to work?

Re: The linux-pf thread; BFS/CK, TuxOnIce, BFQ, AUFS3

When building aufs3-util against latest kernel I get this error:

In file included from ver.c:19:0:
/lib/modules/3.1-pf/build/include/linux/aufs_type.h:170:27: error: expected ‘:’, ‘,’, ‘;’, ‘}’ or ‘__attribute__’ before ‘*’ token

When searching for it online, I found this:
http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.linux.f … .user/3241

which makes me think that there was an issue when the kernel sources were patched or something like that.

Anyone else getting this?

MODULES="... tuxonice_swap tuxonice_userui" in /etc/mkinitcpio.conf (userui being optional). Also, add 'resume' in HOOKS before 'filesystems'

[EDIT] Don't forget to run 'mkinitcpio linux-pf' afterwards.

Well, we obviously configure the kernel ourselves when makepkg asks and change <M>'s to <*>'s at the relevant tuxonice options smile

If you've been running without an initrd, then you most certainly have configured already the kernel yourself, haven't you? I doubt any distro kernel would boot without it.

Re: The linux-pf thread; BFS/CK, TuxOnIce, BFQ, AUFS3

Hi there, trying to update linux-pf from 3.1.2-1 to 3.1.3-1 i get the following error:

  LD [M]  drivers/media/dvb/mantis/hopper.ko
drivers/media/dvb/mantis/hopper.mod.o: file not recognized: File truncated
make[1]: *** [drivers/media/dvb/mantis/hopper.ko] Error 1
make: *** [modules] Error 2
==> ERROR: A failure occurred in build().
    Aborting...
==> ERROR: Makepkg was unable to build linux-pf.

Any suggestions?

Nope, but it's interesting what wrong with it. Last time I build all-inclusive kernel, and everything was fine.

Re: The linux-pf thread; BFS/CK, TuxOnIce, BFQ, AUFS3

hm, I cannot install it via pacman. your entry in pacman.conf:

[pfkernel]
Server = http://dl.dropbox.com/u/11734958/x86_64

is not available. Is there any alternative option? I do not want to compile a kernel now....

EDIT:

I have to correct my report, only linux-pdf is not reachable. The rest seams to be available.

Dunno. I've built 3.1.3 errorlessly for all major CPUs.

Re: The linux-pf thread; BFS/CK, TuxOnIce, BFQ, AUFS3

Anybody has an older version of this please?
I'm having several segmentation fault with 3.1.x, while they worked good with 3.0.x, and by mistake i deleted my packages.
I'm looking for precompiled or PKGBUILDS for *-atom

Thanks, hoping...

Get the latest package and edit the PKGBUILD as follows:

_minor=0
_pfrel=7

Then compile with 'makepkg --skipinteg'.

On my configured kernel some random processes shows up using ca 100000000000% cpu. What Kernel option do I need to stop this from happening?

No kernel option should make that happen, it's most certainly a bug. Try a different CPU and/or I/O scheduler, timer freq  (1000Hz is recommended by CK), disable debugging info...
