[solved] G560 (snd-hda-intel Conexant CX20585) headphone jack ...

I bought a Lenovo G560 laptop a few days ago and I've been struggling to get sound working properly.

$ lspci | grep Audio

The internal speaker is working but headphone jack isn't. I was able to get both playing at the same time using different model=xxx settings (no jack sense though), but suddenly (after upgrading to 2.6.35 I believe) only internal speaker works no matter what settings I load snd-hda-intel with.
I've tried running alsaconf several times.

I've unmuted every possible channel in alsamixer (I only hae master and PCM), turned volume up and down and tried unplugging jack and plugging it in again.
I've also tried installing aur/alsa-driver.hda-intel.hda-codec-realtek-git 1.0.23.67-1 which only led to my card not being detected at all. Had to reinstall kernel26 to get it back.
I have alsa-lib 1.0.23-1, alsa-firmware 1.0.23-1, alsa-oss 1.0.17-1 and alsa-utils 1.0.23-2 installed.

Hi!

I've got the same probs with my G560. Try this in e.g. /etc/modprobe.d/sound.conf:

options snd-hda-intel model=ideapad

With the ideapad-model the headphone jack should be working as expected.

I managed to get the internal microphone to work using a alsa-driver from http://www.linuxant.com/alsa-driver/ (on ubuntu lucid, using a 2.6.31 kernel). It also made some switches accesible, so you can switch on and of internal mice and jack independentently. Same for headphone/internal speaker. You could give it a try...

Thanks alot, I can confirm this works on the CX20585 for me too on a toshiba satellite C650D-10W.

I've solved it! Now there's no need to recompile alsa from scratch or sth. Just instert module snd_hda_intel with model=asus. Everything is working fine, even Mic!

Since arch stock kernel 2.6.38 everything is working just fine from scratch.
