DnD?

Edit: Or, you know, any other Pen&Paper RPG that fits your playstyle… I hereby heartily recommend The Shadow of Yesterday smile

Re: What game is this?

Hm, I think depending on what type of games you like to play most old DOS-games (often available as Abandonware -> google for it) are still fun to play. They all run great inside DOSBox under arch.

Many older Windows games still have a non 3D mode. Diablo 2 for example also had a Direct Draw mode IIRC and runs fine in WINE. Also do not forget Baldurs Gate.

Re: What game is this?

Scummvm will let you play some awesome adventure games from lucasarts era (you'll need the original game files; Some games are free to download from the scummvm website)

Frozen bubble, specially in multiplayer mode.

And I second chess, lots of classical board games (chess, go, shogi, mahjong, risk, monopoly, ludo, settlers of catan, ...) have online multiplayer versions that are lots of fun to play.

And tetris, of course

Re: What game is this?

Any DOS game in DOSBox....I actually haven't run into anything that doesn't work ok.

Correction - Master of magic is extremely slow, even on a core i5. But that game was crap anyway
