Hello guys, I've just noticed I can't install any plasmoid.
I downloaded some from kde-look.org and when I install it I get this error:

any idea?
It doesn't work even if I install it from "Download new plasmoids" with the plasmoid installer.

Try unpacking the .plasmoid file and running plasmapkg -i on the unpacked folder. That helped me with a problematic plasmoid.

Yes. This is the only way I can currently install plasmoids. It's quite strange, though. Is it a bug?
Thank you, anyway!

@gabriel9 This is the workaround: unpack the plasmoid in the folder, for instance xx and then type plasmapkg -i xx/
It worked for me.

Yes i know that, i myself tried to code some plugins. But for now i give up because of bad documentation.
BTW thank you for tried to help me.

I have same problem. Solved with unpack and plasmapkg -i, but it's not solution.
Any know about reason?
Why topic marked as "Solved"? Workgorund is not solution.

plasmapkg -i is not a workaround it is just another way how to do it, in this case manually. Some people prefer to do stuff in terminal.

Let's say that unpacking can be considered a "workaround".

I filed the KDE bug, but then hesitated filing a bug with arch, because this appearently hits various other distributions as well. But then maybe arch linux does not qualify as a "reasonable system"

I think it might be both. Sure, the package should be built with zip support, but if that is the case, why is this option not enabled by default (except if it is, but then I don't think so many distros would be affected)?
