KDE 4.5.1: panels missing (Intel GM965)

Hi,

The upgrade kill my panels, regardless of the effects on and off. The panels still live somewhere, as certain widgets show signs of activity. But I still would like them back smile .

this happened to me as well, i figured out the reason for me was using slim glow theme which didn't work after the update, so my panels were gone, switching theme helped.

I'd like to salvage them, you know. Besides, your suggestion begs an interestion question: how am I supposed to get rid of the garbage which is an invisible panel?

Slim Glow here, too. I tried Heron, no luck again. Is there a working theme? Or I'll have to recreate the panels anyway?

Try deleting ~/.kde4/share/config/plasma*

files and you'll have the default KDE4 plasma configuration.

Lucky you... Have been using Slim Glow as well, switching doesn't help.
