I am having KMS issues booting into chakra testing iso, but we are unable to figure if there is a kernel regression.
Does anyone here has a working laptop with arch kde and ati drivers with kernel 2.6.35?

Not KDE, but I do have issues with kernels higher than (but not including) 2.6.33. You're not explaining what issues you have, but I can explain mine. I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop with an ATI Technologies Inc Mobility Radeon HD 3400 Series VGA controller. I am running 2.6.33 because any higher kernel gives me glitches. When I boot up the display goes into framebuffer mode, this is the same with 2.6.33 and higher. However, from 2.6.34 I see blue stripes of about ten pixels in width and one pixel in height that flicker randomly in my screen. This happens from console and X. Playing videos shows even worse performances. HDMI connects and shows no flickering blue stripes but the performance sucks.
I can choose to not boot with KMS by setting the 'nomodeset' kernel option. This removes the framebuffer and the glitches, but in X I cannot connect my HDMI device and playing videos also has a bad performance because it suddenly shows green spots in dark areas, almost like in the film The Matrix!
I am totally clueless about this, so I am guessing that KMS is the culprit and I am staying with 2.6.33 which works fine. The only benefit of a higher kernel (if it would work properly) is that a HDMI-connected device would show the console and X while the laptop monitor shows the same.
I hope all of this is making some sense. I hope also that someone can direct me to a proper way of handling this; should I report it as a bug somewhere, or are there other solutions?

Well I am sorry but your post seems irrelevant, I am unable to use KMS with 2.6.35 and mobility radeon HD 3670 I am able to start the graphics with nomodeset parameter.
But this post is more about if anyone has the same hardware as mine.
