how to install only stable releases?

Ok recently I noticed that when I did

 pacman -S choqok

it downloaded the beta version of choqok !
how do I make pacman download only stable releases?
I know that Arch is all about rolling releases but what if I want some applications to be stable ones ?

Re: how to install only stable releases?

There is no way of doing this automatically.
However, there are several way to prevent a particular package from installing, one is the --ignore switch.
Also you can find the previous version of a package in the /var/cache/pacman/pkg folder, if you want to revert to that with pacman -U package.xgz

Re: how to install only stable releases?

usually we pack only stable releases and maybe there is a good reason to use the beta over stable. Maybe the stable is features less or is not compatible with our current kde/qt or is broken because twitter or whatever changed apis. Better email the maintainer

Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.
