Pacman Repo Issue

Hi,

i'm sure this has been posted before, but i'm something of an Arch newbie, and recently installed the latest version of arch in a virtual machine through Oracle VM virtual box in ubuntu.

it's all set up and running bash nicely from a fresh install, but whenever i try to sync pacman i end up with;

(after 'pacman -Sy')

error: failed to update core (no servers configured for this repository)
error: failed to update extra (no servers configured for this repository)
error: failed to update comunity (no servers configured for this repository)
error: failed to synchronize any databases

and following the instrusctions in the wiki, i run /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist and usr/bin/rankmirrors and both end me with 'No such file or directory'

also after nano /etc/pacman.conf i have uncommnted the core, extra and comunity repo options...

any ideas? i am really at a loss...

many thanks XD

Re: Pacman Repo Issue

edit /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist and uncomment a mirror close to you.

Re: Pacman Repo Issue

You can't run /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist, it's a text file ...
Open it with a editor and uncomment servers.
After that try again pacman -Sy.
