Logitech Quickcam Pro 9000

Hello,

On this page (http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Web … #linux-uvc) it says that the Logitech Quickcam Pro 9000 needs the linux-uvc driver, and below is a note that says: Note: This driver does not have V4L1 support.

Then the article goes on about 'Get software to use your webcam " and everything it mentions is related to V4L1.

Do those linux-uvc drivers without V4L1 support all software?

Basically, will it be able to Skype, capture video, use other chat programs, etc...?

What will I be missing if it doesn't have V4L1 support?

Thanks.

I have the Logitech Quickcam Pro 9000 and it works very well with Skype on my Arch setup.

Re: Logitech Quickcam Pro 9000

I figured it out, it supports V4L2, but not V4L1. I thought it meant it supported neither. Maybe the article should say "Note: This driver does not have legacy V4L1 support, but has the newer V4L2 support" instead smile
