How can OpenOffice communicate with cups and samba to print?

I am not able to print using cups from openoffice writer. Printing works from lp, firefox and okular. The printer is at my school configured to print on requests from a samba print server on a network with a proxy. When I print in openoffice writer the job is not registered in the cups queue. What should I do first?

Re: How can OpenOffice communicate with cups and samba to print?

T-Dawg, the proxy is only for communicating with a squid proxy on some server between the internet and me (only http and https I think), not the printer on the localnet. As I said before, I find it odd that okular and firefox communicate well with cups when openoffice don't.

Greetings.
