ATA Link Resetting

I am using arch kernel 2.6.35. Whenever the AC power toggles the link to my SATA hardisk get a hard reset. This is causing problems with my modem also. I was told that the hard reset is bad for my computer especially the hard drive (http://www.draisberghof.de/usb_modeswit … .php?t=486).
I would like to rectify why this is happening as there is a lot of AC power toggling at my place.

Here's the dmesg O/P after the AC Power goes off and comes back again:

ata1: hard resetting link
ata1: SATA link up 3.0 Gbps (SStatus 123 SControl 300)
ata1.00: configured for UDMA/133
ata1: EH complete
