gnome-power-manager and network-manager-applet sleep issues

Hello fellow Archers,

When I close the lid on my laptop, gnome-power-manager requests that network-manager-applet sleeps before it blanks the screen, which disconnects all my networks... I don't want this, since my laptop just sits on my desk, essentially a desktop, and I would rather my personal webserver and torrents stay running when I leave for classes and such. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Mitch

Have a look in gconf-editor to see if there's a setting for that? (I can't check now, I'm using XFCE.) Also, check that you didn't keep the default "put computer to sleep when the lid is closed", but I suppose you've done it already...

Yeah, I had switched the option off in the settings for power manager but it was still toggled on in gconf-editor, and set to sleep after 10 minutes on AC power? Weird. Thanks for the idea.
