gnome multimedia volume keys: howto change the track they control?

Hi All,

I have a multimedia keyboard with volume keys. When I press those keys, I see in alsamixer the master volume changes.
My speakers however react to the track headphones.

How can I setup gnome, so the multimedia keys control headphones instead of master?

my versions:
$ uname -a
Linux tv 2.6.34-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Mon Jul 5 21:03:38 UTC 2010 i686 Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 1.60GHz GenuineIntel GNU/Linux
gnome version 2.30.2

my soundcard:
intel 82801BA - ICH2

Best regards,
Cedric

Bump

I have a similar issue, my hot keys change both Master and PCM, I just want them to change Master.  (When both change, the volume goes down exponentially, going from very loud to very soft after two notches)
