Blender 2.54 font display bug

The font of the UI is rendered in a very weird way. It's completly broken. See Picture below of the splash screen.
The rest of the UI is fine, only text is crappy.

Does anybody know this problem or how to get rid of it?

Using xf86-video-ati on a R500.

I have no problems here with the splash screen or any other part of the program.  How did you get Blender; build yourself, download from graphicall, AUR?

I am using the latest build from the CVS repository, compiled myself, running on nvidia.

I've installed through the PKGBUILD blender-beta from the AUR.

No problems on my Intel graphic card macbook either.

I had this Problem with all 2.5x beta version, though I've never used the bleeding edge CVS version.

blender -d outputs nothing of interest (as far as I'm concerned)

The only thing I can suggest is maybe trying the CVS version.  It's really not all that different than using the 2.54 beta version, except you get more fixes since thats all they are working on right now for the release of 2.6.

I don't know if this is connected to this.

I tried xf86-video-radeonhd which worked fine.. it's propably a problem with the radeon driver?

Meh, the bug tracker of blender is not really lucid.

Still the same with 1:2.57b-2 from [extra].

Nobody an idea? This renders the program useless for me.

On my intel graphic notebook it works fine.
