Hi!
now its about wifi drivers...
Ijust can't get my wifi work!
I had found drivers on intel page and I had followed instructions to install
installation requires only to copy one file to /lib/firmware ,so I did it.
but wifi is still not working... instalation manual says athat kernel needs to have enabled hottpluging function which should be found at : device drivers -> Generic Driver Options -> Hotplug firmware loading support ,but its not there!
can someone tell me where in make menuconfig of kernel 2.6.35-4 can I find it ?
or can someone just help mi get it work?
I did search a lot but nothink helped...
thanks a lot!
Moderator edit: Changed topic title, topic starter thought it was Intel wireless but lspci unequivocally shows a Broadcom one present

hmm, i think core/linux-firmware should be sufficient to get your card to work....

So what make you thnk you have an intel 5150? I see this:
02:00.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation Device 4357 (rev 01)
and would send you here:
http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Broadcom_BCM43XX
Offline
I don't see an Intel wireless chip in there either...
Moved to a more appropriate location.

oka thanks..
the site of seller says that this notebook comes with that wireless card..

Specs tend to fluctuate, I wouldn't trust what you see on a site over what lspci tells you .

true..
Im still having few questions :
is AUR package what can be found here http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Broadcom_BCM43XX designed for 86_64 systems too?
and where should I apply that patch? ..I never did that...
thx

Im still getting:
[root@timeline linux-2.6.35.4]# cd /usr/src/linux-2.6.35-ARCH/
[root@timeline linux-2.6.35-ARCH]# patch -p1 < kernel.patch
can't find file to patch at input line 4
Perhaps you used the wrong -p or --strip option?

There's a PKGBUILD in AUR. Or, you can download the driver from here,
so dont patch but install from aur with yaourt.....its easier as stated in the wiki:
It is better to use the PKGBUILD, that way pacman will track all the files.
so a
$yaourt broadcom-wl
should do the trick
