A4tech wireless mouse features?

Hi all,

Just got myself a wireless mouse (A4tech G7-300), works just fine OOTB (its plug-and-play for basic functionality in windows too).

There's drivers which can be installed on windows which allows the user to control things like bandwidth utilization and DPI. My google-fu may not be up to scratch today, but all I've found is 2 projects to allow for controlling Logitech wireless mice (locomo and lmctl) and some advise on changing the USB controller's refresh rate.

I'm pretty sure this 'functionality' and features are vendor-specific, hence I'm not hopefuly to be able to use them on Linux. Does anyone know any better?

The functionality I most want is the ability to read the battery level of the mouse though, the rest is just candy. Again, google shows some concept art for GPM showing mouse battery levels, but no specific projects which implement it. Though that'd probably be kernel or xorg related?

Any suggestions for getting the most out of my mouse welcome. Most of the guides online are about getting more buttons working, but this is a simple 2-button mouse so those don't apply. Oh, and acceleration etc.
