Hi, few months ago I installed arch, and internal mic worked. When I add "options snd-hda-intel model=ideapad", internal speakers also mute after plug-in headphones. I didn't use mic since now, and now, when I need it, it doesn't work. I'm using stock kernel, so the problem happend probably after upgrade form 2.6.34 to 35, but I'm not sure. I tried recompile alsa drivers, latest alsa-driver snapshot.

I have the same issue. Me and my friend both have the same laptop and arch linux on them. He just haven't upgraded at least 3 months from now, while I have up-to-date system with testing repository. His sound works flawlessly, while I can't get microphone to work. You probably just need to downgrade kernel. I will tell you which version of kernel and alsa-driver he's having when I found out.

Same problem here, mic is not working at all and to hear sound from internal speakers alsamixer must be over 70%... comparing to Asus V6J i had before Asus played sounds at least twice louder
