Hey guys, just wanted a few recommendations on what games I can play on my laptop, I dont want any FPS or things like that because then dont work well with the touchpad, I want some fun games that can be easily played with the keyboard and/or touchpad. So, what would you recommend?
My laptop is almost new with 512mb nvidia graphics so fire away your recommendations (No Battle For Wesnoth or Neverball, I already have those).
Also it doesnt matter if they are free or commercial games, as long as they run on linux natively or via wine without a hitch.
thanks in advance

I would recommend Eschalon Book 2, which is by far the best solo rpg game I've played in years.

A few suggestions: World Of Goo, Osmos, Hedgewars, Widelands, OpenTTD, xmoto, Starcraft 2 (yes, without a hitch), Homeworld 2, Morrowind, Oblivion, Neverwinter Nights, Dungeon Keeper 2
Apart from that, get a WiiMote for playing Neverball. It's insane fun and an instant eyecatcher for when you are playing in a cafê.
Have fun. ![]()

A Flash card game very much in the style of Magic: the Gathering. Free.

I'm not sure if it'll run on Wine but you should check out Amnesia: The Dark Descent. That game creeps me the @$*# out.

Amnesia is natively available for GNU/Linux, there's a demo version available in AUR amnesia-demo

Nethack - one of the best roguelikes made, many variants/patches/etc for added fun (but then I like roguelikes in general, soooooo yeah)
OpenTyrian - top-down shooter. Also much fun - who cares how old it is ![]()

DosBox. Play all of the old Gold Box games. Get some Doom and Quake in.

Get a mouse if you want to game
. Some wireless mouse with those tiny dongles you don't even notice.
Then go pay 30 bucks for Heroes of Newerth
. That game totally rocks, and released for Linux as well!

Thanks for all the replies folks! Really good recommendations. I have some things to say:
-I already have Heroes of Newerth, indeed amazing game!
-Amnesia im playing the demo, and OMG this is some scary #*(/)@+
-WiiMote for neverball? How can I get the wiimote driver installed in arch?
Another thing I have to say about Heroes of Newerth, I am the leader of a clan (Linux only), called Keepers OF the Kernel (pretty cool name huh??) We have about 15 members and we are very active and friendly, so if you want to join in be my guest. I dont have the url of the clan right here but if someone is interested let me know and I will post the URL here.
Cheers

Already invited you! welcome
I was going to create arch only clan but it will be too small so, look right now we have 15 members only imagine if It were arch only clan lol, probably less than 5. Besides Linux is a big family.
Here is the clan URL so you can apply, leave a message etc etc.

Such a pity, I'm in South East Asia and we can't join the international servers. We DO get it for free though...

That's a pity...no way to spoof IP somewhat?

Proxy would be an option, but have you ever tried to game over a proxy? Besides, the pipe from here to the US (one big undersea cable to LA I think, from Japan) is overloaded, I've never been able to get sub-250 ping on servers outside the Asia region.

You should check out Death Rally! It's one of the coolest racing games aver made. It's originally a DOS game but the developers have released a free Windows edition that runs perfect in Wine.
