no i packaged aplha1 for arch
packages are final of course.
if you have a link to fix the bug provide it here and i look what i can do.
Also, pacman -Qi kdelibs shows that the package was built on 9/3 and the official release only took place on 16/3.

sweiss that was the reason for the about why packages appear sooner in repos in the wiki. that explains the distribution method by kde.
merged to HEAD means it will be in 3.4.1 they didn't retag to 3.4.0.

thank you. i just enabled it and it takes downloads again - nice!
the button of kget in konqueror toolbar is not longer there - is this a feature or bug? (did they removed it intentionally?) - i mean the button to enable the floating arrow where you can drag links to. you can enable the floating arrow also in kget i just realized ;-)
thanx for maintaining kde!

Oh, so that is what it means.
Thanks a lot, for both the explanations and the packages

I'm having a strange issue with my KDE-menu in 3.4 - it's identical with my gnome-menus - ie, a lot of kde centric icons are missing, and the categories are messed up, and there isn't proper icons on every entry.
Is this a bug, or is it a feature?
To err is human... to really foul up requires the root password.

... this is maybe the most important question in software!
i cannot reproduce your trouble (menus ok)

um - i have no power man section in the control centre and the devices section doesn't work in konqueror - it says the module is not support or unavailable or something?
.:EDIT:. I read the wiki and the second should now be ok but why no power man settings?

==> please delete your /home/$user/.kde/share/apps/konqsidebartng/
from http://wiki2.archlinux.org/index.php/KDE

you mean the power section for notebooks?
do you run acpid?

What about id3 tags ? I had in 3.3.2 when I asked for properties of any mp3/flac/ogg file some extra id3 information. This seems to be lacking in the 3.4 version. Is this a local problem or a problem with these packages ?

perhaps something went wrong while upgrading to 3.4?

Probably something went wrong. I will look into it then .
Update: Removing my profile was enough for getting the extra id3 info back.

I upgraded to 3.4 a few weeks back, using the Wiki procedure and it generally went well. I have ironed out all but one of the minor issues that arose, but the solution to this one problem eludes me.
When, as user, I click on Log Out, I am only given the "End Current Session" option, not Turn Off or Restart. This option drops me to another screen outside KDE, from where I can choose shutdown and then turn off or reboot - but this is somewhat longwinded.
The problem does not exist in the root desktop, nor in a new user account which I created as a test. I presume it is therefore down to some setting in my home directory. I have tried deleting the .kde folder and letting it regenerate a new one, but this had no effect. I have searched for any config file which looks as if it might control this behaviour, but no luck. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
I should add that I do have the correct settings in the Control Centre/Login Manager, as confirmed by the fact that my test user account works perfectly well.
