Assuming you read the Archwiki Fonts page , did you install ttf-ms-fonts or liberation? Because they're hugely popular on the Internet and if you don't have them you may have such problems. It may be whatever else, though, i'm almost as noob as you

Do you have anti-aliasing turned on? Do you have the proper dpi for your screen?

Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

Now I'm more confused than before ,
So, this is a firefox problem? Can i fix it via ~/.fonts.conf?
Thanks for the reply!

I have the current firefox and xulrunner but my fonts look OK, as always.
You can add
Xft.antialias: true
to your ~/.Xdefaults and reboot X.

If you *don't* want anti-aliasing, I think this is worth looking at:
(personally I love anti-aliasing and see nothing really wrong with your current font rendering--but the above link should help you make it look "crisp" like in XP)

I re-compile xumrunner-system-cairo on AUR, and it makes Firefox looks nice !
Take a notice that compiling xukrunner-system-cairo takes quite long! So, please be patience

Do note that freetype2-infinality was designed to work with the *-ubuntu patches, not the *-cleartype patches,

I was under the impression that since the Firefox in the main repos wasn't compiled with system cairo, it doesn't respect your local font settings, so nothing you do in .fonts.conf will have any effect. See here, for example. I "solved" this problem by switching to firefox-pgo in AUR, though if someone knew of an easier solution, that'd be great too.

To get the best fonts, you need to use the infinality package (which you are), but you don't have it set up properly.
Unless you really know what you're doing, you should be using the infinality font configuration. There's a link to it in the wiki article, just copy it to /etc/fonts/local.conf and delete your current configuration.
Infinality should not be used with those old -cleartype packages, especially the cairo package (cairo isn't the place for that font stuff). Install vanilla cairo or from the arch repositories or cairo-ubuntu from the AUR (they are the same thing, except the -ubuntu one has a patch that makes GNOME/KDE respect the fontconfig settings), and libxft-lcd (libxft-ubuntu would be fine too) from the AUR.
You also need to use a different firefox package or it won't use your fontconfig settings, as people have said.
Also, the problem with the gmail logo isn't font related (it's an image, not a font). I think you're probably getting the image scaling issue. You need to use the new firefox4.0 beta (https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=852826) to fix that.
