Onboard audio not working (HDA Nvidia ALC1200)

So my audio won't work. It was running fine, then I rebooted and now I have no audio. I am not sure what is happening. My sound card is being recognized by the system.

00:09.0 Audio device: nVidia Corporation MCP73 High Definition Audio (rev a1)
**** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices ****
card 0: NVidia [HDA NVidia], device 0: ALC1200 Analog [ALC1200 Analog]
  Subdevices: 1/1
  Subdevice #0: subdevice #0

So maybe it is an Alsa problem? I am running Alsa 1.0.23-1 (alsa-lib in the repos). This error message from vlc also leads to think that it is an alsa problem. The error says that by upgrading alsa-lib to 1.0.24 I might fix the problem (1.0.24 doesn't exist in the repos)

Any clue on what is happening? My sound card is a HDA NVidia Realtek ALC1200.
Any more commands I can run?

You can run alsamixer? And make sure the relevant elements are unmuted?
