[Workaround] LCD brightness get 100% when changes profile energy

Hi:

I'm running arch in a Vaio FZ-21Z with KDE. When the profile energy changes brightness change to 100%.
I have a 'nvclock -S 50' set at kde startup init and it's OK but the problem is profile change

There is any config file to set brightness at kde power-manager?

Thanks.

Hello

You can set this behavior in the powerdevil configuration. Click on the battery icon in the systray and on the little wrench on the bottom-right of the popup. You can also access it in "system settings", item "power management".

Edit all profiles to set the desired brightness.

Cheers

Re: [Workaround] LCD brightness get 100% when changes profile energy

Hi:

Thanks for the answer, but I forgot to say I have nvidia graphic card wich bright control in power devil doesn't work. I currently have a desktop widget to change the brightness but is very annoying are always decreasing brightness when powerprofile changes. Even when I run a video with flash-plugin, brightness get 100%, Impressive ;-)

Obiously function keys to control brightness doesn't work.

Thanks and regards

Re: [Workaround] LCD brightness get 100% when changes profile energy

Well..

At the end I found a workaround to solve this problem. It's very obvious and dirty but it works.

In Powermanagement->Edit Profiles->CPU&System there is a line to put a command when the profile loads, so I type this command:

smartdimmer -s 20 (o whatever value what you want)

I'm still having the problem with fullscreen flashvideos raise to100% brightness, but for now I can change energy profiles without problems.

Regards
