I'm trying to connect to freenode with irssi, using the -ssl_verify argument. I've downloaded their certificate, and put a link to it in the /etc/ssl/certs directory. I've also used openssl to convert the DER cert to a PEM one, and also linked it. Still, every time I try to connect with "/connect -ssl_capath /etc/ssl/certs chat.freenode.net" 7000 I get the following error:
01:15 -!- Irssi: Looking up chat.freenode.net
01:15 -!- Irssi: Connecting to chat.freenode.net [216.155.130.130] port 7000

What am I doing wrong?
UPDATE - I hadn't installed the ca-certificates package.
