Re: USB fails to mount

Is this a mobile broadband device? I ask because I see "4G," although for all I know that may be a reference to the size of its storage.

If you are trying to get mobile broadband, you should try to find a driver for your device.

Have you tried to mount it by command line? http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/USB_Storage_Devices

Re: USB fails to mount

How are you starting xfce? If you have an .xinitrc file, make sure you use:

exec ck-launch-session startxfce4

Re: USB fails to mount

yes Nicoh, the 4G refers to the storage capacity and my ~/.initrc starts xfce4 with that line anon.

Re: USB fails to mount

I meant ~/.xinitrc anon. and I had tried installing udisks to no avail. Checked my /etc/udev/rules.d and found no entry for /media or /mnt rules.

Re: USB fails to mount

You don't need udisks to use the udev rules. Also did you try using on the rules from here:
