dwarffortress problem

Hello,

I have installed dwarffortress version 0.31.16 and have this error when trying to start game:

Main index file missing/corrupted. The file "index" must be in the "data" folder. Make sure DF decompressed into its folders properly.

Same error here.
pacman -Ql dwarffortress says that the index file is in the data folder:
dwarffortress /opt/df_linux/data/index
any suggestions?

edit:
if I just unpack the df Linux package I can start the containing df-binary without any trouble. Might this point to a right problem with the installation?

Add yourself to the games group and everything should work.

After update to 0.31.17-1 this problem is gone
