[SOLVED] alsamixer not found

Hello all,

I'm following the wiki on installing arch (http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Beginners'_Guide#Part_III:_Install_X_and_configure_ALSA), and when I get to install alsa and X, I am having some issues.  I've followed all the steps, and when I get to here:

# su - <yourusername>
$ alsamixer

I get the error "alsamixer not found"

I even tried to execute it from /usr/bin/alsamixer

Any idea?  does it have to be installed by it self, or is it part of alsa-utils?

alsamixer is indeed part of alsa-utils. Are you sure the package installed properly? Do you have any of the other binaries it installs, like aplay, arecord, speaker-test, etc.? You can get a list of files that should be on your system with "pacman -Ql alsa-utils"

thanx, just reinstalled alsa-utils and everything is working.  Now on to X.
