Is the Audigy SE generally well supported by alsa?

I currently have a Sound Blaster X-fi Xtreme (PCI-e)..and I can't for the life of me get it to work on any distro. I have a chance to exchange it (just got it) for an Audigy SE. Is this a good choice? Does the Audigy work well with Alsa (automatically)?

I'm really working for something that just works. I don't want to have to continually mess with it to get things working decently.

Need a suggestion. Thanks!

Joe

Here is the list of Creative soundcards http://www.alsa-project.org/main/index. … ative_Labs  As you have found out, the X-Fi Xtreme Audio (PCIe) does not work.  I have an X-Fi Titanium on my machine which works just fine.
