nvidia install makes gkreml etc. - SOLVED

Hi,

I just bought a new Gefroce 6900 le, and installed the nvidia driver with no probs. I edit the xorg file as the readme file told me too. Then I started up x again. Now at this point I can log in and when I start gkreml or firefox or some other application like gaim they all blow in proprotion, like 9999  x 5555 times so the only thing I see is a big letter 'A' or some other letter if I scroll. I have no idea what is going on here. I did´nt have this problem before...since I only used the an integrated graphic card. I really need some help on this issue.

Re: nvidia install makes gkreml etc. - SOLVED

Does the rest of your desktop render fine though?

If not, are you using "Virtual" in Section "Screen" (in xorg.conf) with 640 resolution?

Are you using your old "xorg.conf" from the integrated card?  If so, you might want to try a new one from scratch.  Use `Xorg -configure` on VC/1 to generate a new one, and proceed from there.

Re: nvidia install makes gkreml etc. - SOLVED

My desktop that is, background picture and my aterms works like a charm.

Im not using "Virtual" in Section "Screen" in xorg.conf.

I had my xorg.conf generated my hwd -s.

When I switched over to VC/1, I saw pixels, red, green etc in a random order, there were lots of them, like from an old game commandore 64. No text at all, totaly crazy, but I could switch back though.  :?

I tried to start different kinds of games, like tuxracer which worked out just fine, but when i tried to start AA (americas army) it just crashed.

Anyway, I have no clue at all what the heck is going on so I drop you my xorg.conf maybe you can get something out of it.

I simply added DipslaySize under monitor section...and weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee no MORE big fonts etc. My AA crashed is also fixed, I simply added my self to audio group. But I sitll got problem when I switch over to VC/1 etc. But I think some other guy/gal wrote something about it, i will check it out.
