[SOLVED] vmware-workstation 7.1 install problems

I am able to install the program using the steps laid out here - https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=88173

However after installation, when I try to run the program the kernel module updater it starts up and then stops with this error.

Unable to build kernel module.

See log file /tmp/vmware-root/setup-7688.log for details.

I have a fully updated X86_64 Arch system, have not been able to find a solution for this.

Any ideas on what to do?

The wiki also points to a patch for kernel 2.6.35. Have you tried that already?

Also, have you installed kernel26-headers?

yes I have the new kernel headers and i also patched from the wiki
