I was just curious about something, does rekonq really require konqueror? When I try to uninstall konqueror (I use it over rekonq) it wanted to remove rekonq too. Is rekonq just a konqueror overlay or something?

I think it needs it for AdBlock but I'm not sure. Maybe someone can enlighten you more.

That's strange. For one browser to require another is weird. I don't really need both. I use Firefox mainly but I think rekonq is almost there as a capable browser and it's nice to have an alternative on my system, but not two alternatives.

It would be strange that rekonq requires konqueror... As far as I know, it requires qt (4.7) and kdelibs (4.5.x) at the moment.
This is, in my opinion, an archlinux-packaging issue.
EDIT : in AUR, the git packages requires qt and kdelibs, not kdebase-konqueror as the community package.
EDIT2 : reported a community package bug. https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/21390

i read earlier that rekonq uses some of the konqueror options dialogs (e.g., cookies), and that in the future, rekonq would get its own dialogs. i'm not sure if that situation has changed or not.

According to a review I've read, Kubuntu has rekonq and not konqueror. I could be wrong on this though, and if I'm right, I'm not sure if it's a hack.
