[kinda SOLVED]No /etc or anything after installing

Hi,

I installed Arch on a computer in school and after installing the packages, I wanted to configure Arch (at least the installer wanted me to do that wink). But the config files were all empty. And in /mnt there is no etc folder ... so what to do now? I am pretty sure, that there was one while I installed it on my laptop. I tried both: net- and cd-installation (cd is the latest).

Edit: ok, there is nothing .. cant even set a rootpassword because there is no /usr or /bin (dont know where passwd should be). Only things that are present are the mounting points (dev, sys, proc, home, boot) and var with the cache from pacman)

Edit2: I dont know why, but pacman didnt install anything. So I read the manpage of pacman, found a super cool -r option (setting root) and used /mnt for root. But first I had to upgrade pacman because I needed the improved version of the -U option because of the dependencys (didnt want to redownload all packages). Although I'ld like to know why this happened?
