[Solved] Intel GMA 4500 Flickering

I've just put Arch on my new laptop with this chipset however I'm getting a lot of flickering in the lower portion of the screen, even in terminal.  I put LinuxMint Debian on as a test and don't seem to be able to replicate the problem so can probably safely assume it is something to do with my Arch setup somehow?

I've followed the instructions @ http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Intel but it doesn't seem to have made any difference.

Has anyone got this card that has got some tips or anyone else experienced any similar issues?

Hey I have the exact same chipset as you

Never had this problem though. Must be something in the driver code.

Try appending "i915.powersave=0" to the kernel line in /boot/grub/menu.lst
