Hi All
Finally i have Archlinux installed, but now i have some questions ...
Having previously backed up some files to cd disc, when i to access the files to copy back to my system, i get this error
Rejected send message, 1 matched rules; type="method_call", sender=":1.8" (uid=1000 pid=4600 comm="exo-mount) interface="org.freedesktop.Hal.Device.Volume" member="Mount" error name="(unset)" requested_reply=0 destination="org.freedesktop.Hal" (uid=0 pid=1375 comm="/usr/sbin/hald)).
Any thoughts please ?

A little too little information, I'd say.
It looks a little like Gnome, trying to mount the CD with Nautilus. A wild guess would be you've got an XOrg 1.8 and try to run it with HAL.
I could also be wrong and you actually try to shove the CD up your cat hardwired with the SATA jack.
What do you do to mount the CD? Which window manager? Which version of Xorg? Is hal involved?

depends on what file manager do you use, you need to start hal and login in the right way into your graphical session.
what you have to do:
1) add dbus hal into daemons
2) exec ck-launch-session dbus-launch wm in your ~/.xinitrc or use gdm/kdm/lxdm
Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.
