Wireless Network Problem

Hi All

I am having trouble getting my wireless network to work.  I have wireless_tools, netcfg, network_manager etc but i just cant get it working.  How do i add the network applet to the panel ... Coming from XUbuntu, it was all done for you, so any help please ?

What errors are you getting? What commands are you running? Are you getting confused with the syntax of the programs or is there actually a problem like your wireless card won't work?

I usually use wicd (archwiki) you might want to give that a try if it's a syntax thing.

As BaconPie pointed out, the wiki has excellent and thorough documentation. Unlike Xubuntu and similar distros Arch places system setup and configuration squarely in the hands of the user.

If you want the tray icon for NetworkManager, you need to install network-manager-applet and then run nm-applet for the icon.

I got it sorted using Netcfg, wavelan etc ... all is good
