I just tried to install `pacman -S hamster-applet` and have conflict with two files:
(25/25) checking for file conflicts
error: failed to commit transaction (conflicting files)
python-wnck: /usr/share/pygtk/2.0/defs/wnck.defs exists in filesystem
python-gnomeapplet: /usr/share/pygtk/2.0/defs/applet.defs exists in filesystem
Errors occurred, no packages were upgradedboth, wnck.defs and applet.defs are owned by gnome-python-desktop 2.30.2-2, can I just force the install?

you are not doing it right. pacman -Syu should upgrade to a newer gnome-python-desktop, which is an empty package containing only new dependencies.
now you find out why pacman -Sy hamster-applet sucks.
i suggest to remove gnome-python-desktop and pacman -Syu hamster-applet

Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.
