Just been reading about v4 of dcron (currently Arch is up to v 4.4). Apparently since version 4 dcron now also does what anacron used to do (run past jobs if you turned off your computer when the job was scheduled). I loaded and installed anacron and have it set as a daemon, but it appears this is unnecessary now. If I get rid of anacron is there anything else I need to do to my cron files to ensure they get run (I turn my machine off frequently).

You can safely remove anacron, without doing any additional operations.
